Ross Jackson Elected President NZICA.
Our congratulations to Ross Jackson on his election as President of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.  A very special occasion for Southland as the last recipient was in 1971!  Ross was inducted at the Annual General Meeting on 1 December in Auckland.

Ross is the Managing Partner of McCulloch & Partners and has been heavily involved with the Institute, having served as a member of the National Public Practice, former judge of New CA Member of the year Awards, as a member of the Working Group for Development of Quality Standards on Tax Compliance, National Tax Operational Committee, National Professional Development Committee and currently serves on the Audit, Finance and Risk Management Committee.  He was until recently Chair of the Practice Review Board.  He was elected to the Executive Board of the Institute in 2006 and was awarded a Fellowship that same year.

Ross has had a long involvement in Community Sport administration, having been the Chairman of  Sport  Southland  and  Treasurer  and later Secretary of the Southland Cricket Association and a community representative on the Hillary Commisson  Local  Funding Scheme.  Ross has also been the Secretary of the Southland Amateur Sports Trust since 1989 and a founding trustee of the Southland Schools Pipe Band Programme Trust.

A fantastic achievement Ross and our warmest congratulations also to Ross’s family; wife Virginia and three children - Angela, Brittany and Bradley.
The NZICA is New Zealands largest professional body with over 32,000 members in New Zealand and overseas.

The office of President is for a 12 month term and although Ross will spend some time travelling he will still be based in Invercargill and enjoying working with his clients.
