Benjamin specialises in all areas of tax law, including property development, high-net-worth individuals, family trusts, GST, corporate taxation, international tax, and inbound migrants. His approach is detail-oriented and practical, guiding clients through the complexities of taxation while ensuring compliance and strategic tax planning. His deep expertise and methodical problem-solving enable clients to navigate tax regulations with confidence while identifying opportunities for tax efficiency.
Before coming on board with McCulloch & Partners as a Partner, Benjamin gained invaluable experience at Big 4 firms and a major German multinational, working on complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions. His academic achievements include a Master of Law and a Doctor of Philosophy from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, where his PhD (awarded with distinction) focused on the taxation of enterprises under domestic and international tax law. Benjamin has also contributed to the academic field as a Senior Lecturer at Victoria University of Wellington and continues to guest lecture in Auckland University’s International Tax LLM program.
Beyond his role at McCulloch & Partners, Benjamin’s experience in academia and international taxation provides him with a well-rounded perspective that allows him to offer cutting-edge insights to his clients. Outside of work, Benjamin enjoys outdoor pursuits such as hiking, hunting, and golf. He also has a passion for German literature and loves spending time with his wife and their dog.
