With a lot of hard work, this young family are living their farm ownership dreams.

Paula and Caleb Hamill began their careers in the dairy sector in 2008. By 2013 they transitioned into self-employed contract milkers, now in the 2023 season, they have hit the huge milestone of farm ownership! The pair worked extremely hard to make their dreams a reality, they set firm goals while learning how to manage multiple farms, alongside the challenges that come with raising a young family.

They understood the importance of developing strong relationships with other farm owners and key stakeholders in the industry, as well as working closely with bankers, lawyers, and accountants.

In 2015 they contacted the team at McCulloch & Partners for advice on how to get to where they want to be. Our team helped them with their annual compliance and advisory work, including cash flow planning, putting together bank proposals, and providing support using the Figured accounting software. Along the way, we’ve been their partners for growth and have been there to give advice and assistance when needed.

Paula and Caleb have been naturals at setting long and short-term goals. They’ve shown strong financial management skills and complete annual budgets with a solid understanding of key financial metrics for the business; including security profiles and cash flow.
